Ticks are a common problem for those who spend time outdoors, especially in grassy areas and wooded areas where ticks can easily hide. Ticks are tiny creatures that live on animals or humans and feed on their blood. Ticks may carry diseases such as Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, ehrlichiosis/anaplasmosis and babesiosis. Be sure to check yourself regularly for ticks after spending time in wooded areas or grassy fields where ticks might be present (particularly after any periods of rain).

Tick control tubes, which contain the same repellent as our Thermacell devices, can be used in the field and at home to repel ticks. However, they do not kill ticks nor do they prevent them from attaching.
The Tick Control Tube emits a vapor that discourages biting ticks within a 15′ radius of its location. The repellent is harmless to humans and animals, but it will not kill any live or dead ticks on pets or people*. If you find a tick on yourself or your pet after using this device, remove it carefully with tweezers instead of crushing or burning it (you don’t want to get any chemicals in your skin). After removing the tick, dispose of both it and the container out doors far from where people live or play so other animals won’t come into contact with them
